Since January 2005, Tek-nology Solutions has implemented a range of solutions for a UK-based leader of painted plastics and tier-one supplier to the automotive industry who also design, engineer, procure and assemble components. With an annual turnaround of approximately £35m and 300 members of staff, working across several sites within the UK, the company holds a reputation for dependable quality and performance.
Tek-nology Solutions was approached to explore the possibility of using Microsoft Lync for desktop conferencing between sites, as project teams were geographically dispersed. A secondary requirement emerged around video conferencing for the company’s supply chain and customers.
The company’s virtualised server platform, previously implemented by Tek-nology Solutions, provided the perfect environment for Proof of Concept testing Microsoft Lync as a server-based technology. With existing server hardware and Microsoft Lync trial licences, the only investment required related to professional services.
With minimal investment, our client has been able to trial the Lync solution – enabling them to assess its integration, functionality and validate the benefits. This has, in turn, led to them committing to a full scale deployment.
