They approached us in October 2019 - our brief was to improve their IT support services and introduce remote technology, to replace their on-site servers.
A newer and faster system was required to service their business requirements. They also asked us to consider how best to provide back up and disaster recovery services, as part of their business continuity requirements.
They were nervous about the introduction of cloud-based technology. We developed a proof of concept in which we built and tested a cloud-based system whilst leaving their premises-based system untouched.
Following rigorous testing and a comprehensive demonstration of our cloud-based capabilities, we migrated their systems and data across to Office 365, enabling their data to be cloud-based.
Ironically, we planned and implemented this in December 2019, before the government introduced lockdown measures for COVID, requiring companies to encourage their employees to work from home.
A standalone accounts system was initially left on site and this was subsequently upgraded. We introduced remote desktop services, which meant that the accounts system could be accessed remotely and securely.
This provided Treasure & Son with total remote access and enabled their core administration to continue, despite physical constraints to their renovation, repair and conservation operations during lockdown.
The system at Treasure & Son is built around 35-40 users, with the key benefit that the Office 365 solution is fully and quickly scalable to match the shape of their operation.
